Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after her hometown. Her father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder believes she is Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her along with her siblings to Mendocino County California when Ryder reached seven. Here, they did not have electricity. Ryder was a voracious read because they had television. Ryder started taking acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre when she reached the age of 12. She landed her debut role on the large screen in 1986 at the age of 15 young. Ryder was bullied in high school. Ryder hoped her acting career would end this. However, it didn't come happen. But that didn't stop her following her dreams. Ryder made her breakthrough with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder was able to continue her successful roles in many movies.
